One of the country’s best kept secrets… Essex has so much to offer and is so close to London!  Hop on the train and be in the most gorgeous countryside in less than an hour.  With historic houses such as Audley End House & Gardens in Saffron Walden, Colchester Castle and the RHS Garden at Hyde Hall, Essex has plenty of hidden gems.

If you love a bit of action, then cycling through Constable Country and stopping off at Dedham Vale where John Constable painted some of his most famous works of art, would be a dream trip. If you love wildlife, you can take a boat from Burnham-on-Crouch to Wallasea Island where one of the largest wetland reserves in Europe is in the process of being created. The River Crouch is close enough to the North Sea to be tidal which means there's a rich diversity of wildlife.
