Introduction

"Set in 32 acres of grassland in peaceful and tranquil in the countryside of Smarden an amazing experience awaits you at the exclusive Big Cat Sanctuary in Kent. A unique opportunity in the UK to join a Big Cat Walking Safari and overnight lodge experience hosted by the Wildlife Heritage Foundation.\nArrive at 2.30pm for an afternoon tea with a glass of prosecco in the Heritage Lodge Welcome Centre overlooking the tigers and lions followed by a VIP tour with one of the keepers where you will be able to meet the wonderful cats. After freshening up in your lodge enjoy a complimentary pre-dinner drink and an evening meal in the Heritage Lodge Conservatory overlooking the African Lions. They are so close it feels like they literally walking past your table.\nA peaceful night’s sleep will follow while you are surrounded by some of the world’s most magnificent predators\nThe next day you will wake to the roar of the lions Breakfast will be served in the Heritage Lodge Conservatory followed by a walk on the wild side with one of the Keepers. Your morning tour includes a hand feed of one of the cats and concludes at approximately 11am with a visit to the gift shop.\nThe peace and tranquillity of the site in Smarden provides a sanctuary and excellent conditions for the successful breeding of the beautiful yet endangered cats both large and small within the European Endangered Species Breeding Programme.\nA unique worthwhile wonderful wildlife experience in the heart of Kent."

To raise much needed funds the charity relies on donations and specialized experiences, including Ranger for the Day, Big Cat Experience, Photographic Workshops, Bespoke Events, Weddings and Big Cat Adoptions.
 
There are 4 African style lodges onsite and all are named after 4 Big Cats: Amur Tiger, Amur Leopard, Lion and Snow Leopard. Guests will be allocated in one of these lodges.

What makes this area so special

The Big Cat Sanctuary is set in the heart of the countryside in Smarden, Kent and is run by the Wildlife Heritage Foundation. WHF, The Big Cat Sanctuary, was the vision of Peter Sampson and the Sampson family; great credit should be given to them for their enthusiasm and determination to bring this project alive and recognition of their enduring support and enthusiasm for the charity.
