What makes this area so special
Camber Sands is the centre point of a vast, unspoiled sandy bay (a designated Site of Special Scientific Interest) and is famous for its 7 mile stretch of long golden sands and powdery dunes. Add to this a range of shops and cafes offering food, beach equipment and of course essential ice cream supplies, along with an RNLI lifeguard service during the peak summer months, it is the perfect destination for families to enjoy beach life together. The beach even has its own section dedicated to watersports if you are looking for a little more adventure - there are centres offering a range of lessons for kitesurfing, land yachting, windsurfing, sailing and paddle boarding (sailing and windsurfing lessons can also take place on a sheltered lake).
This seaside village has several bars and restaurants, including the award-winning Gallivant serving locally sourced food. The Salts Farm Shop is a two-mile drive which sells quality farm produce. The bustling town of Rye is just 4 miles up the road and is well worth a day of exploring; with a range of restaurants, bars, boutique shops and historical sites.
