This self catering cottage is right in the middle of Tenterden, a bustling lively town once a Cinque Port town When Tenterden was a Cinque Port back in the 1800’s the lane where the cottage is located, formerly known as Honey Lane, was one of the access routes to and from the port. Tenterden is home to the Kent and East Sussex railway where you can step back in time and take a gentle journey enjoying the best of countryside views described as the "Jewel of Kent". Approximately 10 miles of beautiful views with the last stop at Bodiam castle.

This is our 5th year using Mulberry and there is a reason we keep coming back. An excellent range of properties that live up to the billing backed up by reliable and efficient customers service. Our second stay at this property. Beautifully appointed in a lovely quiet location just off Tenterden High Street.

All contact undertaken on line. Perfectly straightforward and efficient including reminders and details of how to access our accommodation. Having used Mulberry on a number of occasions as expected. The standard of accommodation always lives upto the advertised details. This is a beautifully finished cottage reflecting the owners’ design backgrounds. Classy, compact and comfortable. We hope to return.

We enjoyed staying at Bell Cottage in Tenterden, it was beautifully decorated - small but perfectly done. We will definitely return! We have the most wonderful stay over christmas at the cottage. It is both incredibly stylish and comfortable, beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. Perfection. We loved the location, it is within a few minutes walk to the town which is very well supported, and has an amazing array of restaurants and boutiques - a great place to spend a few days. It was so pretty at christmas - we were very grateful to the owners for decorating it so stylishly for christmas. The previous reviews mentioned things like tea towels and irons were needed in the cottage as it was brand new, they are all there now and the cottage is very well stocked for our stay. The log burner was gorgeous - and the cottage was very peaceful and relaxing. The outside space was very nicely done - and will be great in the summer. We were a family of four (with two children) and it was just right for us. Without a doubt we will return, we loved Bell Cottage - thank you for a wonderful stay!

Booking was easy, no problems with the service. Bells Cottage is new as a holiday cottage and although it is immaculately presented there do seem to be one or two teething issues. The cottage could do with a number or name on it so that visitors know which one it is. Directions to the cottage give Bells Lane which you can’t actually drive down in a car. It would help if it gave the name of the lane you need to turn into, I can’t remember it off hand. Whilst appreciate the need for security, the key box is not tremendously easy to get at. The rubbish collection is not very clear and therefore no one seemed to be getting it right. For some reason we needed to turn the heating on at the boiler, not just with the thermostat. This was not explained in the information folder. Kitchen is well supplied with crockery, glassware etc, nespresso coffee, biccies and lovely museli, however basics like salt/pepper would be a nice addition. Also, rental cottages often provide or offer a basic welcome package of milk, bread and some local delicacies. This would be a nice addition as when you’ve traveled many miles a cuppa on arrival makes all the difference. There was an opened pint of milk in the fridge which was just turning so unfortunately I had to throw it away. The folder in the kitchen would be improved by some advice on local places to go. Not everyone has internet access or wants to sit and browse online when on holiday. We added a few leaflets from some of the many National Trust properties we visited, there are lots of other places to visit too. A couple of recommendations of where to eat in Tenterden would be good as well so that on the first night visitors are not left wondering where they can get a bite to eat. Again we put some recommendations in the visitor’s book from our own experience. Having said all the above, we enjoyed a lovely week at Bells Cottage.

House very clean but lacking a few essentials. Really disappointed to have to buy a tea towel and oven gloves as these are necessities. Biscuits and jam nice touches. A hairdryer, iron and ironing board are normally provided in previous rentals. The stairs are extremely steep and anybody with impaired mobility would have trouble, especially when descending. Key lock requires kneeling to open. Directions were not correct and chub lock did not work on door. Location absolutely great. Clean and pleasant but could have had more thoughtful touches such as hairdryer, iron/board, teatowel and and oven gloves.
