Really enjoyed our week in January, however with temperatures below freezing the kitchen lacked any form of heating and was uncomfortable to spend any time in there, which was a shame as it was very stylish and lovely looking onto the garden. Also disappointing as the kitchen is the hub of our home. The heating elsewhere in the house was very good. The property itself was very nice but could do with a lick of paint in the bedrooms. There was enough crockery/glasses for us (3) any more guests would struggle. Taynton is a beautiful little village for walks, very picturesque but any shopping, or meal out is a car drive away.

The cottage is cosy, warm and very comfortable. We loved the fireplace. The kitchen - dining area is modern with lots of space and a beautiful look into the garden. A great big table for enjoyable breakfasts, dinners or games in the evening. Sadly there are still only 5 chairs around the table, so if 6 people arrive you need to take one of the garden chairs in. The location of the cottage is great for exploring the Cotswold. Although there are no amenities in Taynton you can walk or drive (5 min) to Burford where you can find lots of shops, pubs and restaurants. The Wifi could be improved. It's functioning for WhatsApp messages and basic searches but if several people try to connect it might let you down. We had a lovely stay and enjoyed Taynton and the surrounding area and we would like to come again. It is a dog friendly cottage. Thank you.

Very nice place lovely location. Problem with the property is it’s owner ! Refused to put up a small banner for a birthday as he was losing too much on the property as it was ! Not my problem I didn’t barter to pay less ! Never asked him to pay for the banner either only asked for a little time whilst he was cleaning the property. Put me off using hoseasons again for booking as there are others out there .

Beautiful village in a wonderful location, the cottage had a wonderful kitchen and garden, very traditional house. Beds were very comfortable and I love that there were two bathrooms and one had a bath

We had a wonderful time at Betty's Cottage in Taynton. The cottage is located in a very pretty little village in lovely countryside. It was well equipped and the beds were very comfortable. We especially appreciated the very neat and tidy deck and garden. Thank you!

Best part of Betty's was the extension which housed the kitchen and dining area. Not much in the way of equipment...glasses etc. No dishwasher tablets cling film or cooking foil.

The cottage is a real mixture of old and new, quaint and modern. An excellent base for some very pretty towns.

Whilst Betty’s Cottage is a lovely space it is sadly lacking in some fairly basic items! The cottage sleeps six and was booked for 6….the dining table had only 4 chairs, one of which was so rickety we deemed it unsafe to sit on. We bought the garden chairs in for 3 of us. We also had to put cushions on all the chairs as the table has been made higher by about 4 inches with blocks on the bottom of each leg but the chairs are ordinary dining chairs….we felt like 4year olds on our first day at School! The kitchen is on the whole fairly well equipped but for 6 guests there only 6 knives, forks and spoons and the same with the crockery. Just an annoyance that shows lack of thought. The same is true of the glasses…..more reminiscent of student accommodation with the varying array of tumblers, pint glasses and 3 wine glasses! The beds were on the whole comfortable, although the twin beds were very soft and only supplied with a very thin pillow each. It’s such a shame because this could be a really lovely place to stay in a beautiful setting, it just needs a bit of thought put into the equipment provided!

This was a lovely cottage in a quaint Cotswold village. An ideal place to explore the surrounding area with the Cotswold Wildlife Zoo literally 10 minutes away. No amenities in the village but Burford just a few minutes away in the car. We visited Oxford & Gloucester & did a day in the Forest of Dean & visited the Clearwell Caves. Not far from Bourton on the Water which is also worth a visit. Overall, a very enjoyable family break. I do think the check in / out times which were probably changed due to Covid should go back to 4pm check in & 10 am check out.

Fantastic cottage in a beautiful village. Lovely house with great extension and garden to relax. The kitchen could do with more than 6 of everything to avoid washing up so much!! Defo recommend though.

Beautiful cottage, odd cobweb hear and there but barely noticeable and really not a concern. The cottage is surprisingly spacious and the kitchen extension and gardens are lovely. The only thing that I could possibly complain about is the checking in and out times changing to 5pm check in and 9am check out. We took my 84 year old grandparents, my grandad has to self cathetate due to health issues and has times he needs to do this which is mid morning. I called the owner and asked if he would maybe allow us to make the check out time just a little later to accommodate this as when we had booked it the check in and check out times was fine. He said this wasn't at all a possibility due to the time it would take to clean and do the gardens. Fine whatever, we ended up checking out the night before anyway. The issue I had was the excuse given was poor considering the gardeners walked through the link corridor and proceeded to do the garden while we was sat in the kitchen having lunch which was half way through the week. However, this did not spoil our time there it was great and I would recommend this cottage to anyone wanting to visit the Cotswolds :)
