Very friendly hosts and lovely spacious accommodation for 2 people with everything you need. Plenty to do and see no matter what the weather. Only negative was the narrow metal spiral stairway to the bedroom which may present a problem for those with any mobility issues especially if the loo was needed in the night. A small upstairs loo would make this cottage perfect.

A beautiful cottage in a lovely village location. Very well equipped, comfortable cottage, lovely home touches. The hosts were really helpful and knowledgeable about the local area. Pub in the village serves great food and a warm welcome, would also recommend the milk shed for a delicious breakfast. Oxford is easily accessible via the nearby park and ride. We really enjoyed our stay here.

My fiancé & I had the most amazing stay at Candlewick cottage. The gorgeous cottage was spotlessly clean, fitted & decorated to a higher level than I’ve ever encountered before & so well equipped, I needlessly brought a few home comforts & kitchen equipment which was a waste of time to pack as literally everything you need is provided. The location is fantastic, a short drive to anywhere you need to go, great local walks & scenery & a 90 second walk to a lovely local pub. The hosts are so warm & welcoming & went out of their way to help us with anything we needed, they gave us so much information on the local area & beyond. I cannot recommend Candlewick cottage enough. The only downside was having to leave! I could have happily stayed longer

We very much enjoyed our stay at Candlewick Cottage. Very well equipped and spacious for two people. Location was great for Blenheim Palace, Oxford and the North Cotswolds. Our hosts were lovely and made us feel very welcome.

Candlewick cottage is a lovely cosy hideaway in a very pretty village. The local pub is full of character and we enjoyed two meals there during our short stay. The owners were delightful, kind and considerate, but also ensuring that we had our privacy. They were a mine of information about interesting places that we could visit locally. We definitely recommend the property.

A lovely place to stay. Everything carefully thought out, the basket full of lovely things and a country magazine to read made it a truly welcoming place. Location for interesting towns and Nat Trust houses brilliant and a train station so close made a visit to Oxford a great day out. Walk along the canals should be done each way which is five mins from Candlewick and sometimes you simply forgot you had a car. The hosts are there if you need them and very generous and friendly with their time. Thank you both. I&P

I had a fabulous break at Candlewick Cottage! A beautiful cottage in a beautiful village, it's also walkable from a train station and bus stops. I arrived by train and was easily able to visit Rousham Gardens (a must!) and Oxford, and to walk to two shops for food (1 a 10 minute walk, the other, a larger shop, less than a half hour walk). My hosts were exceptional in every way. Firstly, immediate responses and communication. Then I was warmly greeted at check-in and welcomed to the cottage and their garden, which I also had access to. Delightful! The cottage was beautifully decorated and supplied with every amenity. Excellent TV and wifi, shower. Lots of thoughtful touches. And the bed, so comfortable that I didn't want to get out of it! Spotlessly clean as well. I can't say enough about how gracious, generous and attentive my hosts were. They invited me to their barbecue dinner in the garden that was both delicious and joyful, with cheerful conversation and laughter all around. As a solo traveller, I was made to feel right at home, this was so appreciated. They also drove me to a larger train station on my departure, so helpful! I highly recommend Candlewick Cottage and can't wait to return! A great big thank you to my hosts!

The cottage was an excellent place to relax and unwind. Very well furnished and comfortable throughout. The hosts were very attentive and providedd a welcome basket on arrival which was appreciated as we arrive late in the evening. Due to staff shortages the local pubs were not offering food but Bicester, Banbury and Oxford are not too far. We made visits to nearby Rousham House & Gardens as well as the National Trust property at Waddesdon Manor. We also enjoyed leisurely walks along the Oxford Canal. Overall a thoroughly peaceful week! Highly recommended for those who wish to chill!

Overall our experience did not disappoint. Beautiful cottage in a fantastic location, within easy reach from the Cotswolds, Oxford and only 1 hour from Highclere Castle. The owners were very welcoming and friendly and informative. We had a comfortable relaxing week however minor "niggles" inclde lack of outdoor privacy; fridge freezer insufficient for self catering and microwave would have been useful.

Lovely clean cottage with car space and patio area; modern kitchen, downstairs wet room/toilet , comfortable and spacious bedroom/sitting area. A very enjoyable 4 nights stay- hosts very welcoming. Would recommend.
