Customer service was ok - it just felt a little impersonal, in terms of communication style etc. The description of the area we stayed in was accurate, although we felt the description of the cottage in terms of location to the owner’s house could be more honest. The area was fabulous, excellent for walking, and within walking distance of a pub, which is what we were looking for. However, the closeness of the cottage to the owner’s house meant that we felt overlooked, and had to have the blinds down the whole time. There were no current instructions for any of the equipment in the cottage, and so it was trial and error. When the heating failed, we could not reset the thermostat, and this was compounded by the fact that there were no logs in the cottage for the woodburner, nor any information where we could find some.

The accommodation was lovely, with plenty of room for parking. Kitchen area, lounge, bedrooms and bathrooms all spacious enough and clean. The only thing preventing me from awarding 5 stars was for one of the evenings we stayed, I was awoken multiple times during the middle of the night (3 - 4am) from guests of the owners house arriving back from a charity evening. To be fair, the owner had notified us of the event and did apologise in the morning, however this was frustrating at the time. Despite this, I would return again in the future. Great place to stay, would return.

Friendly and helpful over the phone Nice cottage but very noisey due to trains and airplanes Parking could of been better especially as it was pouring with rain. Owners car parked so near front door making it difficult to get buggy out The cottage was well maintained and nicely furnished. Owner was very pleasant and helpful

Attractive and easy to use website. Friendly and efficient on the phone. Reliable secure payment processing I usually avoid properties where the owner is on site. Drakes den is a converted double garage in front of a big house. However the owner was friendly and welcoming but we did not see her again. Although she offered to sort out any possible problem, There were none. The Den is like a tardis and fine for up to six Guests and a dog as long as they don’t expect to hang masses of clothes. The kitchen is fully equipped for proper cooking. Breakfast Essentials were provided. The beds are comfortable and there is plenty of hot water. There are lovely walks close by along the bank of the River Itchen. The large Chef and Brewer pub and Shawford station are within Walking distance. An excellent gastro pub The Bugle a short drive away. The nearby station means that trains pass by at regular intervals. The line is in a cutting but there is still some noise and we found that this was the only downside, but you do get used to it.

Good food at the Pub in walking distance Washer & Dryer needs better instructions. Living room could use better couches. Beds are comfortable & Location is nice

Really great website and customer service. The only reason I haven’t given 5 stars is that once the full payment was taken there was no communication to say that it had been processed successfully. They were great when I contacted them to ask if the payment had been taken fine, but feel a confirmation email to say everything is paid would be great, so that I didn’t have to contact them to check. The cottage itself was lovely and was very well stocked in terms of all things you might need for a stay. There were just a couple of things that would have made it 5 stars. There were a few bulbs out around the cottage and small things like having some wood so we could have used the wood burner would have been great. The main thing that would have made it 5 star though was the parking. The parking was on a piece of grass that was underneath some big trees. Because of the time of year there was no grass, just a big mud pit with lots of leaves. It then meant that we were walking mud into the property which could have been avoided if it had been travelled over.

The website is well thought out, it was easy to use and the notifications from Mulberry Cottages carried all the data that we needed to access our cottage with ease. Thank you. The property was immaculate and there was a small groceries welcome pack which really made things easier when arriving. Thank you.
