Introduction

"Framlingham House is a lovely retored Grade II house located in The Bayle one of Folkestone’s oldest areas which retains a village-like atmosphere and a peaceful haven away from the hustle and bustle of Folkestone’s vibrant town centre. There is an attractive communal garden nearby with steps leading down to the harbour and new Harbour Arm with its pop-up restaurants and lighthouse champagne and music bar. Or just around the corner is the Creative Quarter with eclectic independent shops and boutiques and a variety of cafes. For a lovely evening stroll the cliff top walk is just yards away.\nThis elegant self-catering house is full of period features and offers two comfortable sitting rooms allowing guests to choose the informal TV room or the more elegant first floor room with sea views and families can enjoy ample space for adults and children. The stairs are very steep and narrow so not suitable for the under 5’s. Three comfortable bedrooms and two bathrooms make for an enjoyable stay in this lovely holiday home. A well equipped kitchen allows for catering and entertaining and the pretty courtyard garden offers a welcome retreat after a busy day exploring this interesting harbour town."

What makes this area so special

Walking distance of two lovely pubs, The British Lion, Folkestone’s oldest pub, and The Pullman. Good choice of restaurants and cafes especially Rocksalt restaurant and many others on the Harbour Arm. A short stroll to the Creative Quarter with arty shops and cafes and an easy walk to the harbour.

    The overall experience of staying at the airbnb house in the Bayle in Folkestone was very positive. Booking was easy, checkin was painless, and the house was very comfortable in a nice area close to the town centre. Booking online through airbnb was very easy, and the rental was worth the price given the unique historical status of the property.

    The care taker was available to fix issues immediately I felt the kitchen counter tops weren’t cleaned fully by the cleaner Great location, walking distance to the high street, beach and restaurants Very pleasant But parking was difficult and paid parking, the stairs to 1st and 2nd floor are very tight and open not suitable for older people or young children
