What makes this area so special

The small, quiet and ancient village of Ulcombe, with its lovely church, lies in an enviable location amidst the lush greenery of Kent. In an area such as this, outdoor pursuits are plentiful with opportunities for walking, cycling, riding, tennis, golf and fishing. There is plenty to keep everyone amused for a whole day out Leeds Castle, a moated castle with spacious grounds and even a maze. For those who like excitement, Leeds Castle also has a Go Ape attraction which is a high wire climbing adventure through the treetops.

This property was perfect. The owners went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants a quiet place to stay whilst exploring the sights of the local area.

The cottage was lovely, situated in a peaceful area, lovely horses! The kitchen was well equipped, and our wheelchair user was very happy with the downstairs bedroom. The downstairs bathroom was spacious but (note for wheelchair users) we brought our own supported toilet seat as there were no rails round the toilet. The pub just round the corner from the cottage was very welcoming and the food delicious, with disabled toilet available too. You definitely need to book as it gets extremely busy. We loved our holiday and had some fab days out. We will definitely be coming back again.

Very spacious and comfortable place. However it was like the Marie Celeste. There was a completely empty fridge no instructions on anything apart from the electrical appliances no welcome pack no books no advice on recycling no list of amenities locally such as shops pubs doctors. There was no contact with the proprietors apart from 30 seconds on the day before to tell us how and what time we could access the property. We were the only holidaymakers in Hayfields but note that there will be three other properties on site soon called Harvest View, Tilmangate Barn and Tilmangate Oast. We were disappointed overall but not uncomfortable.

Lovely location, very airy and comfortable. It would have been nice if there had been a bottle of milk on arrival for a cupper after a 5 hour drive, and shower gell, or at least make it clear on the site that these aren't available.

Very comfortable seating in lounge and Very comfortable beds. Could do with a wisk and rolling pin, apart from that every thing you could want in the kitchen. Lovely country position.

Very lovely cottage situated in a quiet location. Had everything we needed for our stay. It was clean and spacious and felt very homely. Beds were comfortable. Our only minor gripe would be that we would have liked a 4 Slice toaster instead of a 2 slice .Although, had we been able to work out how to use the grill that wouldn’t have been an issue. We used the Park and ride for Canterbury, and that was brilliant. Visited Dover Castle and Leeds Castle. Had a very enjoyable day at both. Had two evening meals at the Pepper Box Inn just across the road. Both were excellent and good value too. You do need to book though.

Lovely cottage, everything you need to have a relaxing break and ideally located for easy access to attractions in Kent. Enjoyed watching the horses from the sofa! Felt a bit odd to never see the owners but communication before we arrived was excellent. Would be useful to have some information about where the nearest supermarkets are, where the recycling bins are and what you can put in them etc. but that is just a minor thing. Also, the grill still didn't work as mentioned in a previous review but we were still able to cook everything that we needed to. The kitchen was very well equipped. Overall the place was fab and we would definitely stay again.

I booked online which was simple. They were prompt in sending details of key collection etc as we only booked 2 weeks before our stay. The property was very cosy and well equipped. The only two things I would like to mention was firstly one of the beds in the downstairs bedroom has a slat broken on the underneath framework which you notice when sitting on it. Secondly I didn’t feel that the the property had been cleaned too well if at all as the bottom of the oven was full of crumbs etc and the shelves were in a terrible state, also the bread bin was full of rolls and bread from the previous person.
