What makes this area so special

Aldeburgh is one of those seaside gems, pretty as a picture and everything within walking distance. The town itself is renowned for its independent shops, cafe culture, great restaurants and pubs and of course the 2 fish and chip shops. The walks are wonderful as in one direction you can stroll along the beach and in the other are the wonderfully atmospheric marshes that surround the town. With public tennis courts, 9 hole golf course, sailing, bowls and a boat pond for the kids there is lots to do. Further afield, the stunning mediaeval city of Norwich is an hour away, Framlingham and Orford Castles are within 20 minutes and you can take a boat trip down the river or go crabbing at Walbeswick. But of course you could just sit and watch the world go by or lie on the beach and enjoy the ever changing view.

Clear information and instructions throughout, friendly staff on the phone. Perfect house, absolutely loved it, BUT, it was not that clean when we arrived (crumbs on floor, dust, sticky sides in kitchen, some glasses needed washing before use, etc.), felt like the whole place needed a deep clean. Also, the information said supply of tea, coffee and sugar - when we arrived there were 4 tea bags and a scraping of coffee, not enough for one pot, so we had to go out and buy our own, this was very annoying when we had ordered a Tesco delivery, but then had to do an extra shop run. Also we ran out of toilet roll. I know these seem minor, but we deliberately didn’t buy tea and coffee because it said there was supply and running out of toilet roll is very annoying, especially as we only realized in the evening and shops were shut, so we had 12 hours of no toilet roll.. I text the owner about the issues and had no reply. As I say, the house was brilliant for our needs, but these things would probably make me hesitate to book again.

I have booked the same property through mulberry cottages twice and have been very pleased with their service each time. The relevant information was emailed through and I couldn’t fault the service. Thank you. Moorings is a gorgeous property with excellent facilities and homely too. It has been perfect once again for a big gathering. Such a spacious property and beautifully decorated! It’s ideal in a central location, close to the sea and high street too. This is the second time I have booked this house, it has been perfect for two different celebrations. Thank you! Have already recommended this house to others.

Initial response was swift and helpful, though subsequent questions (relating to dogs and cots/high chairs was not so quick - had to ask twice. Felt Mulberry was a bit ’removed’ from the actual rental property I was given a key code which didn’t work. My Tsco order rrived very promptly, and I hadn’t t that time worked out how to get into the property, so the order had to be delivered into my car. Followng a phone call, I established that the code had ben changed, and I wasn’t informed. The houe was lovely, but the cot was a vey small travel cot, which was not very suitable to our needs. The toys and games were all broken or incomplete. The TV didn’t work very well. There were only very basic cooking pots - fine for our eekend, but we were glad we weren’t there and hoping to cook for 12 people for a longer period. Would have been nice to have some bin bags, more dishwasher tablets and some washing powder for the machine. There was dog mess on the lawn from revious occupants.
