What makes this area so special

This is what the famous walker Alfred Wainwright had to say about the Newlands Valley:
"More than 50 years have gone by since I first set eyes on Newlands and in all that time the valley seems not to have changed in any way. Today it is the same sweet Arcadia I knew so long ago, lovely and secluded, an idyllic place of flowers and trees, of emerald pastures and sequestered farmsteads, all cosily sheltered by rough mountains, and having as its greatest blessing an undisturbed peace and enjoying a way of life that in essence has never altered."
The Newlands Valley stretches from Braithwaite to Buttermere, and includes breath-taking scenery. The cottage is just a 10 mins walk from the Swinside Inn, 3 miles from Keswick, and one and a half miles from the marinas for sailing on Derwentwater. Wordsworth’s House just minutes away. For walkers, the well-known walks of Catbells or Causey Pike pass by your door.
Activities and Places to Visit nearby include:

    • Lakes and fell walking/hiking
    • Cycling - bike hire available nearby
    • Watersports - two marinas with sailing and kayaking on the lakes
    • Places of Interest - Honister slate mine, Osprey watching in summer, Theatre by the Lake, The Puzzling Space, Keswick Museum, Wordsworth’s House, Tales of Beatrix Potter
    • Keswick - the North Lakes’ most popular holiday and day trip destination. Nestling between the Skiddaw Mountains and Derwentwater Lake, the town is situated in an idyllic location in the Lake District National Park.

Fantastic cottage in wonderful location. Luxurious interior with everything we could possibly need. We had booked for 3 nights but would love to have stayed longer so hope to go back there v soon. Please note it’s called Stair Cottage- not Newlands Beck Cottage as it said on the website so took us a while to find it!

I would definately use them to book a holiday again. I would like to see more choice in other areas of the country. I would of liked a reminder as to when the balance was due. The cottage was one of the best we have ever stayed in. From the quality of furnishings and extra attention to detail to the stunning location it was amazing. The beds were more than comfortable and the bathrooms superb luxury. Plenty of hanging and drawer space. Kitchen filled with every appliance, utensil, pot, pan you would ever need. Draws with foil, bags, cooking oil, spices, cleaning items just everything. For two adult couples like us it was ideal.

All organised well, although a little cleare communication on the second payment happening automatically would have helped as I chased to pay only to find out this has been taken. Also the property is not called "Newlands Beck Cottage" it is "Stair Cottage" on all documentaion, with the tourist borad and the large name on the house. When you arrive late and wander round a house looking for keys that doesnt match the name you are looking for it is very annoying. Please correct this. Great Location, extremley highly specified, great pub nearby
