The property in which we stayed was as shown on advertising website. Mulberry Cottages did what needed to be done to arrange and execute our booking and eventual stay at the particular cottage in Sussex. Nuttree Cottage is conveniently located in Crowborough and well appointed for a vacation (or even longer) stay. Handy to most of south-east England, the cottage offers homely and pleasant decor. The proprietor is friendly and helpful.

Mulberry cottages themselves were fine but the property wasn’t quite up to the standard I would expect for the price I paid. Unfortunately neither shower worked very well which the owner was fully aware of before renting out the property! As I stated before neither shower worked very well which the owner was fully aware of before renting, which is a shame as lovely cottage!

Communication on the location could be better, moor honest about the poot garden and surroundings. A bit dissapointing. We recieved many e-mails, but that did not make the information clearer. We were suprised by the high deposit of £200,- The phonecalls with the owner were unclear, as if he wanted us to come later but didn’t say so. But most of all, his way of dealing with the fact that both showers were NOT working at all, was irrisponsable. He told us on arriving, that previous geasts had complained, but there was a bath too. But the shower in the bath was also broken. We had several calls and apps with HIM, but it felt as if it was not his problem. We had to wash at the sink all week, with high temperatures! In the end he offered us a free meal at his restaurant (but no dinks!) he said. By that time that felt as a poor way of making up. We wil not go back thats for sure. I hope you can contact Martin about his inhospitable way of doing. We feel we paid to much money for this location and for his way of solving problems which can always occur but the way you solve them makes all the difference! I hoop to hear from you.

Merci !

The conservatory has turned into a storage room for housekeeping although there are two empty storage rooms on the outside.

Very easy to use - would use them again. Nut Tree Cottage was ideally situated near local amenities, but tucked out of the way, so very quiet. The cottage was clean and comfortable, simply but nicely furnished and easy to keep clean - just what you want from a holiday cottage. Lots of kitchen utensils - great for self-catering, with a range of supermarkets nearby. Beds were very comfortable and great to have two bathrooms. Good wi-fi connections made the teenagers happy! It was a great base for exploring the beautiful local countryside, towns and surrounding attractions - so much to do in the area - we had a great time.

I have used Mulberry on a couple of occasion and both times the booking has been straightforward. It was really a mixture of good and poor, there were some nice touches (flowers, bottle of wine) and an effort had been made to furnish the house comfortably, however a couple of small additions could make all the difference, eg rather than one stark centre light in the living room (the two spots didn’t work) the addition of a couple of side lamps would have vastly improved the atmosphere. The fire in the living room also didn’t work. The bedrooms were sparse but adequate, again lighting could have been improved. The conservatory was rather ramshackle, although furnished with a comfy sofa, but the worst thing was the front and back gardens were completely overgrown and obviously had had no attention for a considerable time. The seat/benches in the back were virtually hidden in the undergrowth - such a shame because both the front and the back could have been pleasant sitting out areas. This was not an expensive rental and we were only there a short time so it served our purposes but just a little effort would have made all the difference.
