What makes this area so special
There are plenty of outdoor pursuits such as golf, horse-riding and clay pigeon shooting locally. The Ashdown Forest (home of Winnie the Pooh) begins less than 2 miles away, with its fabulous heathland views, woodland walks and the quaint villages of Forest Row and Hartfield. Take a stroll into High Hurstwood village just down the road, and stop in for a drink at the popular country inn ’The Hurstwood’ less than a mile away. For a more bustling and vibrant day out you can explore the shopping, restaurants and cafe culture of Crowborough and Tunbridge Wells. Also close by are Hever and Chiddingstone Castles, Groombridge Place, Penshurst Place and Chartwell - home of Winston Churchill. For those who love opera, Glyndebourne is a short drive. Crowborough is just 10 minutes away, Tunbridge Wells 20 minutes, and the pretty market town of Lewes is well worth a visit 12 miles south. Brighton is also within an hour’s reach.
