This is a lovely cottage with old world charm but completely updated by modern amenities. The setting is at the top of Hollingborne village on the main road through the village. During the morning and evening rush hour, the traffic is very steady and fast. Since the cottage sits 8 feet from the road, the cars and trucks are whizzing by. You can park on the main road but it is tight. Parking was our biggest worry as we were traveling with our 87 year old mother. The only issue in the cottage for us is the stairs are really like a steep ladder. Again, for my mom that was a big concern but they are manageable with caution. The beds are comfortable, the bathrooms, heating system and kitchen are beautiful and well planned. The decor is so well done and very comfortable. There are wonderful walking trails through the farmland off the main road but be sure to bring your boots as if it is wet, it is muddy. The Dirty Habit is right across the street and is a wonderful pub. We hosted a family dinner there in their monk room and it was perfect. There are two other pubs and a little village shop about 4 minutes away and Maidstone is only a 15 minute drive. Very convenient to the main motorway or Hollingbourne train station with direct lines to Cantebury or London. Great value in a wonderful location

Communication before our stay was minimal, and we didn’t receive final arrival instructions until a few days before our arrival. It would have been nice to receive a check in text or phone call early in our stay. However, everything worked out very well. The cottage was wonderful. The living room and TV room were both very beautifully appointed, and the kitchen was large, comfortable and very well equipped. All beds were comfortable and privacy curtains on all windows. The cottage had 2.5 bathrooms which was a real luxury! We used the back patio and garden almost every evening. We highly recommend this property
