A remarkably interesting place to spend a holiday as you’ll genuinely feel like you’ve gone back in time.\nBehind the entrance gate’s into the owner’s estate you’ll find Sandhill Cottage on your left. Parking is plentiful for 2-3 cars and there’s a roomy garage for storing your bags bikes or anything that won’t fit in the cute space of the cottage.\nInside carved wood rules the house. What makes this area so special

The location is excellent for exploring Sussex, the Weald, the south downs and the south coast, whilst still being only 10 minutes from the access to the M23 or Gatwick airport and 20 minutes from the M25. It provides fantastic access to some of the best National Trust and Heritage sites and gardens in southern England including Standon, Nymands Gardens, and Kew Gardens Wakehurst. Access to London is really easy by fast train (30-35 mins) from either Gatwick airport or Three bridges stations. Likewise Brighton (a really lively city full of eclectic and independent shops, restaurants and night venues) is 30 mins by train from the same stations. This is a great location to explore southern England for both country side and city. Several walks and public paths start just outside the cottage gates and it is possible to undertake circular walks starting and ending at the cottage ranging from 30 minutes to 6 hours. Within a short drive are many great walks and bike routes through the Weald area of outstanding national beauty and the South Downs. Crawley Down is a large active modern village within walking distance (10 minutes down a private lane) and has good local amenities including an excellent butchers, Co-op market, deli, pharmacy, Indian/Bangladeshi take-away, post office etc.
