Introduction

"Searsons has been refurbished to offer a beautiful yet comfortable home from home. The owners have cleverly created a dynamic yet flexible space within a striking period farmhouse. The interior is designed internally as two individual cottages yet connected seamlessly therefore offering a wealth of reception rooms for even the largest of groups to enjoy. It would make an ideal place for a special birthday or anniversary celebration.\nStylishly furnished with modern twists it’s mixed with lots of beams and wood burners - a great combination to make your stay luxurious but above all this holiday home in Suffolk offers every comfort that you could ask for.\nA particular feature is the combination of the traditional and more contemporary this can be noticeable in one of the two kitchens which is very spacious with its lovely central island and bar stools relaxing sofas and fireplace. Also a dining area that is just waiting to for memories to be made"

Booking was easy and Mulberry cottages responded quickly to my questions and comments Lovely farmhouse and cottage. A few niggles with one of the dishwashers and cleanliness of some crockery but overall very goox

Accurate information and advice given when requested. The accommodation was well suited to my family, which including myself numbered 12.( with an age range of 3-71). Particular mention should go to Claire Allen of Bidwells who went out of her way to be of assistance.

We found the double beds very small and a shortage of large saucepans when cooking for a large family gathering. Everyone enjoyed their stay

A beautiful country house ! Comfortable, Warm, perfect for a large family gathering ! Well presented and lovely well appointed kitchens ! Comfy beds and always love a real log burner ! Especially with snow in the ground ! Worth every penny! in comparison to other house of similar size! It’s location close to the nature reserve made it great for walking.

Sadly, I’m not allowed to write anything here unless I click a star above, which I really did not want to so the 1 star ’bad’ rating I’d like to now clarify is really a ’0’ Star ’appalling’ rating. You’ve really rubbed salt in our wounds sending us a ’thanks for purchasing’ email, as you’ll know will did purchase - over the odds at £1300 for 2 days as we decided that as a group of old family friends that don’t see each other enough we would treat ourselves. We’ve stayed at Seasons before using Mulberry Cottages and all went well so why should we have any reason to believe the second time would be any different? But, how wrong we were. Due to the unpredictable snow we had on the 2/3/4 of March we were unable to travel to Searsons. We contacted Mulberry to let them know it was unsafe for the 4 families to travel across the UK to meet and requested a refund and were told no. We then, quite reasonably asked if we could change the date of our £1300 weekend hire that had been paid IN FULL to another off peak weekend later in the year. The answer was NO. I find this decision, disgusting and quite unacceptable. The sudden, treacherous weather conditions were unforeseeable and with four families, who have been previous holiday makers at this property and were travelling from different parts of the UK the decision not to allow us to rebook or refund the money is abhorrent. Bad customer service is an understatement. When we arrived there was a fly infestation in one of the bedrooms. We rang the number that was text to us to inform and I also text them - never to this day did we have a reply or acknowledgement. We sorted the problem ourselves by driving to a local shop and buying fly spray. It just felt disgusting though. The place was freezing when we arrived . The thermostat controller wasn’t working so again we had to go to the shop to purchase batteries to fix it and then several hours after arriving the place finally began to warm up. Although 15 of us fitted in I felt that we were disjointed as only half could fit in a living room at a time. To cook for us all was also disjointed as each kitchen was geared for 8 people. When we have stayed in large houses before the kitchen is geared for the total number of people staying. I know why it was like that because I can see that it is two properties put together.

Before the holiday I had excellent responses from Mulberry when I had queries about the property. The property itself was lovely and just right for our mixed age family celebration for 17 people. We particularly enjoyed the convenience of 2 kitchens and 2 seating areas so that some people could choose a quieter environment if they wished. However, enough room for all in the main sitting room. The reasons for only 4 stars were that we tried to contact the number given to us when we arrived and found only one coffee maker, but received no reply from them and still have not. Also the heating in the upstairs of the main house was not working properly with one bathroom and two bedrooms having radiators that did not work at all. The shower in the main bathroom in that main house was also poor and soaked the floor every time no matter how careful we tried to be.Overall though we had a great long weekend.

We rented the Cottages for my Dad’s 70th birthday so we had a mixed group of 17 ranging from 2 to 70. The cottages were exactly as described online and were, if anything, better than advertised. It was easy to book and all questions were answered quickly and accurately. We are thinking of booking again next year. Good service and prompt response to enquiries. We occupied both properties with 8 adults and 9 children. The property is very well presented and well equipped. The large grounds were great for the children. The only concern we had was that the shower in one of the family bathrooms was unusable because the bath design means that water floods all over the floor no matter how careful you are. The property is well located. There are good walks from the house and the seaside is only a short drive away.

An absolutely lovely place to stay! Would highly recommend both Searsons House and Cottage! Amanda was very welcoming and accommodating. We all had a wonderful stay and being able to have all 18 of eat together was so nice! The garden was great too for children and adults alike and badminton, cricket and rounders were easily played. .

The service from the agents that I spoke with was great. Only one small point was I called up about a week before my stay with some questions and they didn’t get back to me with any answers however this wouldn’t stop me from using them again as my overall experience was very good. I hired this cottage for a weekend away with a group of girlfriends and it was just perfect. The pictured looked fabulous and when we arrived it was exactly as it was shown. The owners clearly look after this place and we were welcomed with two bottles of wine - its the small things that make a difference. I would definitely recommend this cottage!!

From start to finish they were excellent. They were brilliant at helping me find the perfect cottage and providing all the relevant details when I had made the booking. The cottage (Searsons, Trimley St Mary) was beautiful, comfortable and large enough that we weren’t all falling over each other. I would use them again without a second thought. Lovely. Comfortable. A joy to spend the weekend in.

The whole experience from beginning to end was very easy. Prompt replies to queries and ease of booking, would definitely recommend Mulberry Cottages to a friend and would use their services again. A wonderful country farmhouse with all the mod cons you could wish for!. We had a fantastic Christmas holiday with plenty of space for the children and grown ups. All the facilities were of a great standard and we would love to visit the property again. Only one recommendation would be more glasses as we kept running out!
