This accommodation is generally adequate but it’s not quite the perfect seaside retreat that it makes out. The apartment has been nicely decorated in places but feels a little tired now and there are some odd areas - e.g. the lack of floorboards in parts of the bedroom, leaving open access to pipes etc. There are also quite a lot of wires trailing around the second bedroom. There are no fans and as the bedrooms are at the top of the house, on hot days it gets unbearably hot. Because there is a busy road outside it’s also noisy, even through the double glazing. The apartment is above an Italian restaurant but, more pressing, next to a fish and chip shop and the smell is noticeable in the house for most of the evening and especially if out of the terrace. The house is accessed via a less that unpleasant little alleyway that really is pretty disgusting. Finally it’s worth noting that this property isn’t really in Whitstable. It’s in the next little suburb and is quite a walk (albeit pleasant along the coast) into the town centre.

very helpful staff, only problem was, I had to phone for confirmation to be sent to me, somehow confirmation e-mail did not arrive, all staff I spoke to were very helpful and friendly. the property on the inside was very good, we loved the decor. but a few problems, the outside and walkway into the property,(between two shops) was very dark in the evening, a notice said to leave light on when leaving , on a two way switch and it had been switched off, luckily I had a torch on my keyring. there was no security lock on the side(main) gate as it was broken, walkway scruffy, where rubbish kept and very dark at the rear of the property which was our only entrance. there were fairy lights on the stairway and at the rear of the property which did not work, one set broken and left trailing, the outside seating and table were rusty and dirty and I had to clear up broken glass on the decking area, . sitting outside was not desirable as the smell of chip fat from the chip shop next door was at times very potent and our clothes all smelled of it on our return. for this reason we would not return to the property again or would have wanted to stay longer than the weekend. a shame as the inside of the property was comfortable and very spacious. as already stated, outside and access lets it down

Efficient The apartment was clean, modern and well equiped. Too many "twee" signs hung on the walls but, that is personal taste. What we found mis leading was that it was at least 30 minutes walk into Whitstable, although Tankerton sands is beautiful we had hoped to be closer. The road at the front was so noisy we had difficulty sleeping. Double glazing? The windows were closed being Autumn but, hearing a road sweeper and lorries thunder past meant we came home tired!

Arranging the holiday was quick and simple. There were no problems. The standard of the accomodation was super and we would have no hesitation in renting another holiday property from Mulberry Cottages The apartment was excellent. We immediately felt at home and relaxed there -which is just what is needed on a holiday.
