Fantastic little find! Great location on owners estate. The owners were friendly and there if you needed anything. Their land and lake were available for dog walks and use. So many thoughtful extras left for us - from the cake, wine and doggy treats to those things provided that you always forget or run out of! The house was immaculately clean, cosy and well laid out. Beautiful area. Centrally located for Battle, Hastings old town, Rye and surrounding countryside. Would highly recommend!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Barn and the extra items of cake, wine & milk that were left. The added bonus was the rowing boat on the lake and the hospitality of our hosts was much appreciated. A really great time away - many thanks.

We had such a lovely time! The barn was pretty much spotless and had everything we needed and more. The thoughtfulness was shown from vegan wine to delicious cake and a towel for the dog (which we needed as I'd forgotten). The farm is quiet and beyond greeting didn't see anyone. The lake was brilliant and my daughter loved rowing Angela around the lake. It was just what we needed and I hope to be able to afford to come back in warmer months. Thank you!

A nice barn conversion in a great setting. Owners discretely at a distance but there if needed (they were not). The walks from the property, especially to the little lake, are a big plus when travelling with a dog. Unfortunately the weather wasn't at it's best, but we found things to do without driving very many miles. The property itself offered pretty much all that we needed. The heating needed some taming and it makes no sense that there appears to be none in the downstairs shower room. With booking and pet fees, a 4-night stay isn't that cheap, but it was enjoyed.

Beautiful barn conversion. Immaculately clean and cosy. Perfect walks from the house to the lake and only 5 minute drive to a longer walk in Battle woods. Every detail has been thought and if you are taking your dogs they will be safe in the garden and in all the fields. Loved it. Thank you.

Fabulous place to stay with lovely walks to the lake and around the area. Need to be careful walking from the barn to the main road as no pavement is present. However, the stay was comfortable and the the owners were extremely welcoming. A great location for walks and short drives to places of interest

We loved our stay at Spilstead Barn! Beautifully kitted out, lovely bathrooms (always makes a difference) and everything thought of. Walking through the fields and woods down to the lake was an absolute joy, and we loved the rowing boat - our fastest time round the island was about 2' 10"...something for others to beat!

Spilstead Barn was a perfect rural retreat - comfortable, spotlessly clean and with many thoughtful items provided. There is a feeling of space from the surrounding land with a very attractive lake to enjoy on the owner’s estate plus many places to visit nearby. An extra bonus is its location only a handful of miles from beaches - Pett Level, Winchelsea, Hastings. We thoroughly enjoyed every moment. This was a great holiday cottage in the countryside. We were surrounded by beautiful views of the landscape and also horses, animals and bird life. Walking the 1/2 mile through safe fenced off fields, there is a lovely lake and access to a small rowing boat. Our two Labrador's loved this location, all very safe in the enclosed garden. The cottage was warm and cozy with very comfortable and luxurious beds and linen. It had all the facilities we needed for our visit. A really enjoyable stay.

Spilstead Barn is situated near to the towns of Hastings and Battle. The private grounds are extensive and ideal for dog owners. The owners live in the adjacent house and are friendly, with a welcome pack waiting for us on arrival. The upper floor is spaceous, the beds are comfortable and a bathroom with a bath! The only downside is that the lower floor is dark, a little compact and a toilet/shower area adjacent to the kitchen. Overall the location is perfect for visiting the local seaside resorts and historical attractions.

Had a great time, lovely cottage and the grounds especially the lake are fantastic. Ideal for Hastings, Battle, Rye & Camber Sands. Our second visit and will definitely be back again.

Excellent place for a relaxing holiday, very clean and comfortable, especially the beds! Some extra touches made it feel more luxurious and special. Your own private garden with BBQ and garden furniture was lovely to relax in and also with a 1/2 mile walk a private lake with rowing boat to use including a picnic bench to sit at enjoying the peace and tranquillity. Beaches within half hour drive.

Very friendly hosts of a beautifully situated accommodation which has everything you could need for a relaxing break. Close to the coast (Hastings/Camber Sands/Rye/St Leonards/Bexhill) & inland sights (Bodium Castle/Battle/etc.) but you could just as easily relax in the sunny garden or down by the owners lake. Dogs loved it as much as we did and didn't want yo leave! Would heartily recommend and look forward to visiting again soon.
