Mulberry was very efficient and helpful and there were no problems with either the arrangements or the information given. However I did not like the the ’pre-authorisation’ of a £250 deposit to cover possible breakages or exceptional cleaning. ( to be released 7 days after return if no problems occurred). Sadly this will have an adverse effect on my willingness to use this company again. This is a large, comfortable and well equipped cottage ideally located to visit all kinds of very interesting places in the surrounding area. My wife and I went as a couple, but it would easily suit a family ( large lawn for kids to play on ! ) or two couples sharing. It is in the grounds of the owners home, and the owner took great trouble to ensure everything was satisfactory with our stay.

The Bothy was perfect for the 4 of us. All the amenities were excellent. We enjoyed our drinks on the terrace in the very private garden on several nights. It was convenient for all the places we intended to visit. It would have been useful to know about the busy road with no pavement leading into Fordcombe itself. However, there was no milk ..or indeed, anything when we arrived. There was only a quarter of a toilet roll in each of the bathrooms. And some areas needed to be cleaned more thoroughly. There was a very dirty tray in the oven for example. The recycling was very confusing and the information in the folder was out of date. With a little bit of tlc I would recommend it highly. Most expensive property we have booked but didn’t quite meet expectations in terms of cleanliness and no welcome pack that we’ve had in less expensive places.

Excellent, friendly and efficient service. Very comfortable cottage on one floor but there is a step which one of our party fell down, spending time in hospital. A contrast edge would have been safer. Usual niggles - light bulbs not working etc., water WAAAY to hot!!!, no bathplug. Shower was fine.

Very easy to use and efficient service. We have stayed four times at The Bothy and it is excellent accommodation in a tranquil spot with easy access to many places of interest and an hour’s drive to,thenSussex coast.

Very efficient The owners are very friendly and made us feel very welcome. They had considerately decorated the cottage for us with Christmas decorations for our stay which we enjoyed. The cottage works particularly well for my mother in law who is wheelchair bound. Lots of great ideas for local attractions.
