About The Bothy at Lynsted

Introduction

"The Bothy at Lynsted has been lovingly restored as a beautiful holiday home. Set on a quiet lane it is surrounded by a backdrop of rolling fields - yet Sittingbourne Maidstone and Canterbury are all nearby and within easy reach.\nOffering a spacious combined kitchen dining and sitting room with double doors that open onto the brick-laid patio and garden outside this holiday cottage in Kent embraces open plan living and alfresco dining - perfect for sunny afternoons and relaxed barbecues overlooking the countryside. The sitting room area has two large sofas so in the darker winter evenings there is plenty of space to relax with a good book or gather round a board game.\nThe Bothy also offers a great bedroom layout of 1 double and 2 single rooms so whether you are bringing the kids or want to explore the area with a couple of friends everyone can have their own space.\nThe area is popular with cyclists too with National Cycle Route 1 nearby so bring your bikes and take some well-earned time off to discover this beautiful part of Kent"

  • What you need to know

As there is livestock in the neighbouring fields, unfortunately no pets are allowed.

The cottage is close to some farm buildings and farm machinery, and an open barn used to store hay. Therefore please ensure children are supervised at all times.

This property does not accept hens, stags or wedding parties. Smoking is only permitted outside in the garden, and not the surrounds as there are hay barns nearby.

What makes this area so special

Lynsted village is less than a mile away and offers The Black Lion pub, or there is the Fruiterers in Rodmersham - both are the perfect excuse for an evening stroll! For a more luxurious experience, head to Hempstead House in neighbouring Bapchild for spa treatments and fine dining.

Property was well presented and very clean , however as we were staying for two weeks a change of linen would have been appreciated . The bothy would also benefit from toilet roll holders in the bathrooms and blinds or curtains on all the windows not just the bedrooms , not so good for a romantic stay . Cannot fault the location or outlook and the neighbours were very quiet , just the odd baaa!! A very pleasant stay and I would definitely stay again See review , beautiful property , just needs a few extra things to finish it .

Owners live onsite and very welcoming and friendly. Any issues more than happy to help. Very good holiday, very clean cottage. Thoroughly recommend going for a holiday!
