I requested a floor plan 3 times by email and once by phone. All I received each time was the Terms & Conditions. With6 families and 20 people arriving it would have helped to plan which room was to be allocated to which family.Eventually I was told no floor plan existed which is surprising when I was spending over £4,000 for a weekend. The building and everything about it was fine but a few more kitchen tools are needed - especially sharp knives. Lovely location as well

Confusing when booking and norton barn, canterbury barn barn cantebury are all of the same cottage. The directions to the cottage was confusing as we were looking for canterbury barn not norton cottage. Great place to stay as a large group. All bedding and towels were clean and of good quality.. Warm and cosy. Loved the fluffy throws on the sofa’s. Great views. Liked having the two sitting rooms. Great location. Spacious with good dining area. Great cooking facilities.Good selection of games and books. Problems included some of the dishes needed washing before use. Unable to close the curtains in the sitting room. Freezer needed defrosting. Kettles leaked. Canterbury barn, Norton barn and the barn Canterbury are advertised as different cottages but they are the same cottage. Had to ask owner to unlock 3 of the bedrooms as they had assumed we would not want all of them. We had booked Canterbury barn which was advertised as 7 bedrooms. However the owner to come straight away to unlock them and apologized. Had difficulty locating the button to open the electric gates on exit.

Very helpful telephone communication. It was a very good space for our family group. The owners were very helpful and responsive to any requests we made. Unfortunately due to the Christmas period the satellite TV could not be repaired to provide TV upstairs, so could only be used to watch DVD’s. The underfloor heating stopped working when the thermostats were turned down and did not come back on. The owner’s provided fan heaters as alternate heating. The central heating boiler made a loud banging noise intermittently after us being at the property a couple of days. This was not resolved, even after a plumber had been called in to look at the boiler. The noise did interfere with the sleep of those in the room above the boiler. We enjoyed our stay at The Barn and in Canterbury. The open plan living space was very good, also having the upstairs lounge provided an area to be away from the hub of communal activity.
