The barn benefits from a spacious garden area to the rear and at the front are uninterrupted views across the fields towards the North Downs. You can also enjoy these beautiful views from all of the bedrooms.\n\nThe large open plan living area loans itself to long lazy lunches or cosy dinners with the wood burner glowing with friends and family – an ideal destination for all seasons. Aldington village once boasted a notorious gang of smugglers around 1820 who regularly landed contraband from Sandgate Castle to Rye and Deal. The ring leader was eventually captured and was then transported to Tasmania The village now has a useful shop pub and post office and the Point-to-Point Aldington races usually take place on Easter Monday. Bring bikes and cycle around the haunting Romney marshes with just the sheep for company. Explore the shingle desert at Dungeness climb the steps to the top of the lighthouse and stop for fish and chips on your way back home. The Romney Hythe and Dymchurch steam train also goes there.\n\nTake a boat out on the Royal Military Canal at Hythe build sand castles at St Mary’s Bay and Dymchurch or take a walk on the wild side and enjoy a safari adventure at Port Lympne Animal Park where you’ll spot the only giraffes in Kent.
