A big spacious house in beautiful surroundings. The village shop was too far for us to walk but well stocked.Cleanliness was good apart from a cafetière that had been left dirty for a long time.Appliances were good and quickly replaced when the toaster went wrong as the housekeeper was easily accessible and responded quickly to our needs.It would have been helpful to have some instructions for the appliances as I don’t use an electric oven but we did quickly work it all out. Overall a very pleasant stay. Thank you.

Beautiful and quiet surroundings. It has plenty of extras to use if necessary. It is dog friendly and has absolutely no scent of dog in the accommodation but we did find alot of dog hair on one patch of the couch and quite alot in the floor which we hoovered up and carried on and enjoyed the rest of the holiday. We would definitely visit again our children loved it.

Five of us 2 adults 2 teenagers and a lab went for a few days. Cottages is lovely and garden perfect for a dog(enclosed so dogs can't escape) . Location is tranquil with dog walks but not well signposted ; turn right out of gate and follow the road all the way to Barton Stacey or turn right out of gate and after the bridge carry on down the dirt track and then turn left up the footpath , keep going until you hit a road and turn left to Barton Stacey. The cottage could do with a reception book or some direction on local walks, amenities and attractions. The Swan Inn in Barton Stacey is worth a visit , Chilbolton Cow Common (10 mins away) is lovely for a do walk with water. The Mayfly ,Stockbridge is 15 mins away and lunch by the lake is a must. Tesco and Sainsburys in Andover are 15 mins away .

We had a lovely week in this beautiful cottage. Absolutely spotlessly clean, a real home from home. A great base for travelling to places like Portsmouth, Winchester and Brighton. The historic docks at Portsmouth are amazing. The cottage is set in a beautifully quiet location. Wonderful week away as a family. We will be returning.

We have just stayed here for a week, family of 4, absolutely beautiful place and spotless. there was everything we needed and a bonus of the washing machine with young children! Quite a drive everyday to visit places of interest to us but this was reflected I feel in the price of the place but for us balanced out with the peace and beauty when we were there. We met some locals on walks who were all very friendly and welcoming. Whilst in the property and garden we were left to our own devices, didn’t see anyone. We didn’t take our dogs but although a dog friendly place there was no trace of dogs hair, smell or anything which was lovely. I could see it would be dog friendly and dog proofed garden is lovely! Would definitely visit again

Lovely positioned property ideal for visiting Winchester, Highclere , Salisbury. As other people have said would help with a folder of information about the property and surrounding area.Was surprised there was no hairdryer in property as someone had already mentioned this and it was not acted on ! Would say it was 3* property 4* position . We really enjoyed our stay and have booked again for next year .

The Granary is a lovely cottage in a quiet location but easily accessible just of the A30. The cottage is lovely and picturesque and has a big garden which was great for our 2 large GSD, some walks nearby but hard to find as the 'public footpath' signs are not easily visible. There is one a few hundred yards from the house and lat evening you will see wild foxes, dear and rabbits which was a treat. The house was clean and had everything you needed and would expect with a handy rear boot/cloak room. All floors are wood flooring so it is good to clean up after dogs. This is in the grounds of Banbury Manor but is not intrusive or really overlooked. Beds are comfortable, although could do with new mattress and pillows are both are a little hard and worn despite a matteress topper, but this could just be our preference. The decor is a little tired and in need of a paint refresh as there are many marks on the walls, especially in the bedrooms made by furniture and bed heads. Shower also needs some attention as their is alot of mould around the tray. Some cheap chipboard tables with throws over them but they are functional and there is some nice peices of furniture aswell. I will echo what other reviewers have stated in that there is no local information on places to visit, local walks, nearest shop/doctores/hospital or indeed supermarket (which is in Andover 10 min drive), as you would expect for a holiday cottage. You are not able to put glass in the recycle bin but again there is no information about where your nearest centre is or indeed what to do with them, in other cottages they have asked us to leave to one side. No welcome pack and given it is dog friendly there are no bowls/towels/welcome treats provided as we have normally found at other properties, not a big thing as we always take ours with us, but it would have been nice to have spares. Again just for dog walkers, the description says near the river and yes it is but you cannot walk down the river as it boarded by the road and private land so dont relay on this for a nice walk. The house also has two stair gates, one for the stairs as dogs are not allowed upstairs and one for the living room, not sure if this was just to stop them jumping on furniture if they came back wet/dirty or for full time use but had a sign on it stating no dogs on furniture but with the lack of house information pack it was hard to say. Whilst I fully agree that animals should not be on furniture, I dont understand why they cant go upstairs, my dogs stress if they cant get to us as they have full run of house at home. You are either dog friendly or not. This property is classed as luxury so these little things need addressing in my opinion. However, saying all that we would return here if we were to visit the area again, there is alot to do within 30 min from the cottage and Milford on Sea is well worth a visit even with dogs and you can get the ferry with them to Hurst castle. We joined english heritage as there are loads of places to visit all dog friendly. The dogs loved the garden and it was good sitting out in an evening, watching the local wildlife accompanied by a few drinks and a BBQ. The living room is comfortable, no problems with the wifi or tv and ther eis a log burner for colder nights if you needed it.

Our family had a great stay at The Old Granary, it was very clean and spacious. There is a great little village shop in Barton Stacey and three amazing pubs nearby with The Cricketers Inn in Longparish being our favorite. The cottage was centrally located for us to the places we wanted to visit as well as being close to family.

Lovely cottage situated in a small hamlet - it’s very peaceful and quiet. Also has a south facing garden which is fully enclosed. There is a big Manor House quite close by, which you can’t see in the photo’s - don’t be surprised if you get a visit from their lovely little dog, Snowy, who likes to wander! Facilities are generally good although we were disappointed with the lack of any Welcome pack, Information pack and hairdryer. The property would also benefit from a small radio in the kitchen and a few more mugs - there were only 6 for the four of us so we were constantly washing them up! We had a fantastic stay - very peaceful and relaxing - there are loads of beautiful walks nearby but you will need to be prepared to drive. The local pub, The Swann Inn in Barton Stacey, was also very welcoming with good, home cooked food. We shall definitely be returning in the future!

Lovely cottage, in a wonderful location. A bit challenging to find if you don't have sat nav. Fabulous garden for dogs, just need to be mindful as livestock in nearby field and determined dogs could get through fence. But overall cottage is stunning with everything you could possibly need for a holiday, in a location with abundant wildlife and friendly local people. I intend to return in the summer to experience the cottage (and the location) in a different light!

Spacious and attractive accommodation, finished and furnished to a very high standard. Limited but nice local walking - principally various routes to Barton Stacey (about 1.5 miles by the shortest route - pub and small shop there both impressive). Perhaps a Covid precaution but some of our party were unimpressed by the absence of any sort of information-pack or welcome-pack. Bring your own sugar, oil and other basics.
