Lovely short break in a well laid-out barn conversion.

The cottage was very clean, stylish and well equipped. Everything worked well, but we found the sofa very small and hard, and the bed too firm. Also the shower had no door and nowhere to put soap, shower gel etc. The cottage is not very private, as it is very close to the one next door and you are in full view when you are on the patio. The area is very nice and handy for a lot of lovely places.

The Old Parlour is a lovely little bolt hole that is beautifully presented. There is a fabulous gastro pub within walking distance and the surrounding countryside is beautiful. The only thing that was a bit of a problem for me is that there are no windows one can open, only French Doors or roof lights. If, like me, you have a dog that cannot be trusted not to wander you cant have the french doors open and it means the only ventilation possible is the roof lights and they are tricky to operate as they are high up and have to be opened and shut with a boat hook type gizmo. As a result it was quite hot and stuffy at night... the worst of that was sorted by plugging in a table fan though.

The shower needs a door or curtain to prevent water wetting the floor. A larger frying pan is needed. Apart from those two small issues, the accommodation is stylish and comfortable.
