Things to Do in Lyme regis

Lyme Regis, described as the pearl of Dorset, is a seaside town for all seasons. An historic unspoiled seaside resort and fishing port surrounded by beautiful coastlines and countryside, the area has now been awarded World Heritage Site Status; famous for its geology and fossil finds and ideal for spending an afternoon discovering your very own fossils or dinosaur remains on the wonderful Jurassic Coast. Lyme Bay is to the east, where at night the twinkling lights of Weymouth and the flashing lights on Portland can be seen some 20 miles away as the eye sweeps across the bay.

Take to the sea and try your hand at deep sea fishing, mackerel fishing, diving and pleasure trips from the Cobb harbour. Take a wander along The Cobb, an old stone pier and believed to date from the time of Edward I. With a length of 870 feet the curve of the Cobb forms a fine promenade with amazing views out to sea, an ideal base from which to enjoy a coastal holiday in Dorset.
