Where is the Weald

The charming Weald, crosses the counties of Kent, Sussex, Hampshire and Surrey. It was once heavily forested, yet the woodland is still covering 23% of the overall area which is considered to be the highest levels in England. The County, Kent, is known as the garden of England. A well known fact is Charles Darwin studied the Weald for the erosion of the chalk, sandstone and clay in his theory about natural selection which can be read in the first edition of his brilliant book: “On The Origin Of The Species” Many artists are associated with the Weald of Kent because they draw inspiration from the beautiful nature. Today you will still find the maintained wooded character and might seem to be inspired by it yourself.
